I did a day return trip from Glasgow to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse - the last 25 miles were also mainly single track. A lot of traffic in August so it took ages but well worth the trip.

Wow -- it's good that the local government is making such a service available -- in addition to the commercial ferry. These islands are luckily not quite as remote as they could be -- so essential services are available for the residents. But anymore it would be great to visit a spot not crowded with tourists. And having that folding bike is a great option for these smaller places where you don't really need to take your van along for a day trip. Cool!

I shared your dream of staying on a Scottish Isle, so I visited Callanish, AKA Calanais in Scottish Gaelic, and I found a rental and moved here (from Maui, Hawaii, stolen kingdom=USA). I can answer your question; yes, I can easily stay for a week on an isle, alone. I was very excited to experience my first ever full Scottish Winter! Much like a Full Scottish breakfast! It was very delicious, and full of flavors, as I stocked up with boxes of meats + treats + organic sourdough + buns + biscuits, from an amazing company that sells all-pastured, regenerative farm foods, Piper's Farm, England, UK, and my cupboards were full of all the exact same things you showed in this video. I enjoyed every dark day, the strong winds, the loud storms, and the walks in the rain, and a week of snow, that stayed on the ground, which I was told was rare! I love snow. I have an Assistance Dog, so she and I had the best long Scottish Winter here, as I did a lot of crafting, sewing, writing, reading, and knitting, cooking, tidying, cleaning, and smiling, in a remote village on the very very very beautiful Isle of Lewis. I take the bus 45 minutes to Stornoway and have taken 2 trips to the Mainland Scotland in March 2024, to enjoy finding treasures at many Charity shops across the Highlands. I do have a car, but my HI DL expired, so I am sorting getting my UKDL now, wow, it is a new world! Thank you for sharing your journey and discoveries here. Aloha, Claire

This is a fun topic for the video but the pandering to tourists by talking about "Scottish lochs" etc makes me feel a bit sick.

Last time I was in good conversation with a Scottish man was sometime ago … he was a customer and was buying an earrings from me for his wife in USA … if my memory isn’t so bad there was some kind of referdum was going on Scotland…

You know, it sounds expensive but my cable company/ISP is charging me $139/mo for 300 down/35 up. If I wasn’t part of a package it would be $189/mo. They have a monopoly in my area. If prices go down, I’ll seriously consider it.
